Award-winning Nigerian music star Adekunle Gold is set to co-produce a landmark documentary exploring a century of Yoruba music. Titled “The Odyssey,” the project is a collaboration with White House Productions and promises an in-depth journey into the evolution of Yoruba music and its cultural significance.
The documentary will delve into various subgenres that have shaped Yoruba music over the last 100 years, including Were, Sakara, Apala, Juju, AfroJuju, Fuji, and more. It aims to celebrate the rich heritage of these genres while highlighting their influence on the global Afrobeats phenomenon.

The documentary boasts a high-caliber production team, led by Executive Producer Bobo Omotayo. Adekunle Gold joins the project as a producer alongside Tosin Ashafa, Papa Omotayo, and acclaimed director Abba Makama.
