Actor Adeniyi Johnson Speaks Out After Being Robbed in Lagos — Again

Nollywood actor Adeniyi Johnson has taken to social media to share his frustration and concern after falling victim to another robbery incident in Lagos, the second time in recent memory.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Johnson recounted how he was attacked by suspected thugs shortly after descending from the Third Mainland Bridge, near the Alapere axis, while heading toward the Magodo area.

The entire incident, he said, lasted no more than 15 seconds, but left a lasting impression.

“Lagos needs better security than those stop-and-search officers who just ask ‘Oga, how weekend? Anything for us?’” the actor wrote. “It all happened within 15 seconds. I heard a big bang on my windshield, and the next thing I saw were three thugs all over my car.”

Johnson explained that the attack happened because two malfunctioning trailers were blocking the road and not keeping to their lanes, creating gridlock and chaos that made it easy for the assailants to strike.

“While trying to maneuver and overtake, I fell victim,” he said. “This happened after Alapere, once you descend from Third Mainland Bridge and are approaching the Secretariat, before Magodo.”

He described the moment as intense, with the attackers shouting, “Yo mirror e!” (meaning “remove the mirror”) and “Fo glass e!” (meaning “break the windshield”) while surrounding his vehicle.

While the damage was mostly limited to his car, Johnson’s message was clear: the safety of Lagos residents, including its public figures, cannot be taken for granted.

“Guys, please stay woke and be safe. God is God,” he concluded.

Johnson’s post has since sparked conversations online about the need for more proactive and visible security measures in Lagos, especially in areas prone to traffic congestion and street crime.
