It looks like the long-standing rift between Wizkid and Reekado Banks has finally been settled, as the two were recently spotted dining together in Lagos.
On February 24, 2025, the artists were seen enjoying a meal in the company of rapper Shallipopi, sparking excitement among fans. The friendly atmosphere suggests they have moved past their 2020 fallout, which began when Wizkid publicly called Reekado Banks a “clout animal” for promoting their collaboration during the height of the End SARS protests.
At the time, Wizkid criticized Reekado Banks for what he saw as insensitivity, leading to the shelving of their joint track. Reekado later released the song without Wizkid’s verse, marking the end of their working relationship—until now.
Four years later, the two appear to have reconciled, and fans are hopeful that this renewed friendship could lead to the release of the long-lost collaboration.
Wizkid has been spending time in Nigeria since December 2024, performing at several Detty December events. He returned home after dropping his sixth studio album, ‘Morayo’, a project named in honor of his late mother. The album enjoyed massive success, breaking multiple streaming records.
With Wizkid’s ‘Morayo’ tour set to begin soon, 2025 is shaping up to be a busy year for the Grammy-winning star. Could a new collaboration with Reekado Banks be on the horizon? Fans will be watching closely.
