Afrobeats superstar Davido has pushed back the release date of his highly anticipated fifth studio album, 5ive. Originally set to drop on March 15, 2025, the album will now be released on April 18, 2025.

Davido has not given a specific reason for the delay, despite the album being just weeks away from its initial release. However, fans remain eager as they count down the days to what is expected to be another major project from the hitmaker.
This year has already been eventful for Davido. He secured his fifth Grammy nomination at the 67th Grammys, earning a nod for Best African Song Performance for his feature on Chris Brown’s ‘Sensational’. He has also been nominated in five categories at the upcoming 17th Headies, including Artist of the Year.

Ahead of 5ive, Davido has treated fans to two singles:
- ‘Awuke’ featuring Jamaican dancehall star YG Marley
- ‘Funds’ featuring Chike and OdumoduBlvck
In a social media post announcing his new album, Davido described it as a deeply personal project.
“THE JOURNEY CONTINUES in 2025 with my new album, 5IVE!! This one is straight from the heart – my story, my truth, my growth. WE NOT WAITING THOUGH! Tonight at midnight I’m dropping a single ‘Funds’ with @odumodublvck & @officialchike. This one’s for the dreamers, the go-getters, and everyone chasing what’s theirs! Thank you for riding with me. Let’s make history again!!! Album pre-order link in bio! OBO 30BG”
Fans can expect some high-profile features on 5ive, including a track with Omah Lay, who recently revealed in an interview that their collaboration is a “perfect partnership.” Additionally, Adekunle Gold has hinted at a possible guest appearance on the album, raising expectations for another hit-packed project following the massive success of Davido’s record-breaking fourth album, Timeless.
With the new release date set, anticipation for 5ive continues to build. Will it live up to the hype? Fans will find out on April 18, 2025.
