BBNaija’s Nengi Confirms Pregnancy, Addresses Paternity Rumors

Former Big Brother Naija star Nengi Hampson has officially confirmed that she is expecting a child while shutting down speculations regarding the paternity of her unborn baby.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on February 11, 2025, Nengi addressed ongoing rumors linking her pregnancy to the governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri. Expressing her frustration, she clarified that the false reports were not only affecting her but also individuals she holds in high regard.

“As much as I believe social media lies aren’t worth my time, I’ve come to accept that we live in a world where people are quick to spread lies without limits. So let me be clear: I’m not pregnant for any governor,” she wrote.

Nengi emphasized that she would not allow her pregnancy to be tainted by baseless speculations, urging people to respect her privacy.

“I’ve chosen to speak because this isn’t just an attack on me; it involves people I hold in the highest regard, and I won’t allow a beautiful, personal part of my life to be turned into something ugly,” she continued. “While I continue to mind my own business and enjoy my pregnancy in peace, I wish y’all love and a happy Valentine’s weekend.”

Following her announcement, fans and social media users expressed a mix of surprise and support.

  • “What??? Nengi is pregnant?”
  • “Wait, Nengi is pregnant? Lmao, I really don’t be following these people after the show. Congratulations to her!”
  • “Even those dating married men are criticizing her. I’m not supporting her, but y’all should leave her alone. It’s her life, her choice.”

Despite the mixed reactions, Nengi seems focused on embracing motherhood on her own terms, making it clear that she wants to enjoy this new chapter away from drama and speculation.
