Black Sherif Joins Forces with Fireboy DML for New Single ‘So It Goes’

Black Sherif recruits Fireboy for new single 'So It Goes'

Ghanaian music powerhouse Black Sherif has teamed up with Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Fireboy DML for their first official collaboration, So It Goes. Released via EMPIRE, the track brings together two of the most compelling voices in contemporary African music.

Produced by SamSney, with additional production from Louddaaa, So It Goes delivers a deep and reflective narrative, capturing Black Sherif’s unrelenting pursuit of success and a better life. Fireboy DML, known for his smooth melodies and heartfelt storytelling, complements the track with his signature introspection, reflecting on the highs and lows of the hustle and his mission to make his family proud.

This collaboration comes ahead of Black Sherif’s highly anticipated sophomore album, IRON BOY, set to drop in the first half of 2025. Fans have been eagerly awaiting new music from the Ghanaian star, who has consistently delivered hits that blend high-energy production with emotionally charged lyrics.

Black Sherif’s meteoric rise has been nothing short of phenomenal. From his breakout single Second Sermon, which earned a remix with Burna Boy, to the global success of Kwaku the Traveller, which topped the Global Shazam Chart, the artist has solidified his place as one of Africa’s most dynamic musical exports. His genre-defying sound and introspective lyricism even earned him the Best International Flow award at the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards.

For Fireboy DML, So It Goes adds another major collaboration to his impressive discography. Known for his rich vocal delivery and poetic songwriting, the YBNL and EMPIRE signee has delivered chart-topping hits, including Peru and Tattoo, making him one of the most sought-after voices in Afrobeats.

With So It Goes, Black Sherif and Fireboy DML create a seamless fusion of their unique styles, delivering a song that is both deeply personal and universally relatable. As anticipation builds for IRON BOY, this collaboration marks another milestone in Black Sherif’s journey, reaffirming his status as one of the most innovative and emotionally resonant artists in African music.
