Nigerian music sensation Ruger has announced that his highly anticipated sophomore album, Blown Boy, will be released in March 2025. The announcement was made through a post on his Instagram story, sparking excitement among fans.
This new project follows Ruger’s successful 2024 joint EP, RnB, created with his former rival turned collaborator, BNXN. Ruger has already teased Blown Boy with singles like Luv Again and Make Way, as well as the recently released Toma Toma, featuring Tiwa Savage.

Blown Boy marks Ruger’s second full-length album and the first under his independent label, Blown Boy Imprint, which he launched after parting ways with Jonzing World in 2023.
Since debuting on the mainstream scene in 2020 with his hit-packed EP Pandemic, Ruger has solidified his reputation as one of Afrobeats’ most dynamic hitmakers. His unique fusion of Dancehall and Afrobeats, combined with forays into R&B, has delivered chart-topping hits such as Bounce and Abu Dhabi from his debut EP and Girlfriend and WeWe from his sophomore EP.
Ruger’s debut album showcased his star power with hits like Asiwaju, cementing his place among the finest artists of his generation. Known for his electrifying live performances, Ruger’s shows are often a spectacle, drawing enthusiastic crowds, especially female fans who love joining him on stage.
With the release of Blown Boy and a planned North American tour, 2025 is shaping up to be a landmark year for Ruger. Fans are eagerly awaiting what promises to be another stellar chapter in his career.
