Tiwa Savage Addresses Online Bullying from Wizkid FC

Tiwa Savage recalls the discrimination she faced early in her career

Afrobeats icon Tiwa Savage has become the latest artist to speak out against harassment from Wizkid’s fanbase, famously known as Wizkid FC. Renowned for their unwavering loyalty to Wizkid, the group is equally infamous for targeting those perceived as competitors to the global superstar.

Tiwa’s clash with Wizkid FC arose after the release of her collaboration with Ruger, Toma Toma, on November 15, 2024. Sharing her excitement about the track on Instagram, she captioned her post, “Told y’all this one is special. The @rugerofficial called, and I answered.” However, her post attracted criticism from a Wizkid fan who commented, “Dey play, nothing special pass Wizzy hits.”

The remark didn’t sit well with Tiwa, who responded, “Because I am promoting music? WTF… Y’all are not fans anymore ooo; you guys are actual bullies.”

Her candid reply highlights the growing tension between artists and Wizkid FC, who have developed a reputation for online harassment. Tiwa’s experience is not isolated. In recent months, other artists, including Skales, Burna Boy, and Davido, have faced similar backlash from the group.

Skales, in particular, has been a target due to his claims of writing songs for Wizkid during their time under Banky W’s EME label. Meanwhile, ongoing debates between Wizkid FC and the fanbases of Burna Boy and Davido have fueled arguments over who holds the crown as Nigeria’s top music star.

Tiwa Savage’s remarks add to a growing conversation about online bullying in the music industry, as artists increasingly call for fans to focus on supporting music rather than spreading negativity.
