Tems Makes History with Three Grammy Nominations, Setting New Milestones for Nigerian Artists

Nigerian R&B sensation Tems has once again raised the bar, securing an impressive three nominations for the 67th Grammy Awards, solidifying her place as the most-nominated Nigerian artist for this year’s ceremony.

With nominations for Best African Music Performance, Best Global Album, and Best R&B Song, Tems has achieved a series of groundbreaking records. Her debut album, Born In The Wild, is nominated for Best Global Album, making her the first Nigerian female artist to earn a Grammy nomination in this category. Additionally, her soulful track “Burning” garnered a nod for Best R&B Song, establishing Tems as the first African artist to compete in the R&B category, a major breakthrough for Nigerian and African representation in broader Grammy categories.

With these nominations, Tems extends her record as the most Grammy-nominated Nigerian female artist, now boasting a total of six nominations in her career. Her current three nominations also make her the second-highest nominated Nigerian in a single Grammy year, just behind Burna Boy, who achieved four nominations at the 66th Grammy Awards.

Tems’ historic Grammy recognition underscores her global impact and highlights the growing influence of African music on the international stage.
