Known for her soulful voice, powerful lyrics, and captivating rhythms, Fave has carved a unique space in Nigeria’s music scene and gained international recognition.

Fave initially caught the public’s attention with her breakout hit, “N.B.U.,” in 2020. Since then, she’s delivered a series of chart-topping singles and projects, including her debut EP, Riddim 5, and her eagerly awaited new release, Dutty Love, which drops on November 7. Collaborations with Nigerian music heavyweights like Olamide, Simi, Phyno, and Davido have strengthened her presence in the industry, especially her standout feature on Davido’s Timeless album hit, “Kante,” one of Nigeria’s most-streamed tracks on Spotify in 2023.

Reflecting on her journey as a female artist, Fave shared, “Being a woman in the music industry can feel like an uphill climb, but it’s made me more determined. The EQUAL program is special because it supports women, ensuring our voices are given prominence. It’s empowering to be part of something that champions balance in the industry.”

With an expanding international fanbase and a sound that transcends borders, Fave is quickly becoming a global ambassador for African music, breaking new ground and setting standards.

In an interview, Fave shared a glimpse of her journey and inspiration:

What’s one surprising thing your fans might not know about you?
“I love watching movies and crime documentaries.”

When did you realize that music was your calling, and what keeps you going?
“I knew music was my destiny from a young age. I sang in the choir and even wrote my songs. I told my friends then that music is something I wanted to do for life. It’s more than a hobby; it’s a talent that brings me life.”

Which African artists inspired you growing up?
“PSquare, Asa, Sasha P, and Eva Alordiah.”

How would you describe your music to new listeners?
“My music is full of soul and emotion. I’d say my style spans a spectrum.”

Any advice for those hesitant to follow their dreams?
“Life is too short to hold back on your dreams. Following your dreams is essential because they’re yours for a reason. If you don’t, you might miss your purpose in life.”

With Spotify’s support, Fave continues to make waves as a dynamic voice in African music, inspiring a new generation of artists and fans worldwide.
