AMAA 2024: Femi Adebayo’s ‘Jagun Jagun’ Wins Three Prestigious Awards

Nollywood star Femi Adebayo’s epic film Jagun Jagun triumphed at the 2024 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), clinching three major awards. Announcing the win on social media, Adebayo celebrated the movie’s recognition in the categories of Best Male Actor in a Supporting Role, Achievement in Visual Effects, and Achievement in Makeup.

This year’s 20th AMAA, held in Lagos, also honored other noteworthy films, including Nigeria’s The Weekend by Daniel Oriahi and South Africa’s The Queenstown Kings by Jahmil X.T. Qubeka, both taking home four awards each.

Jagun Jagun had been nominated in seven categories, which included Achievement in Production Design, Best Film in an African Language, and Best Nigerian Film. The success of Jagun Jagun at the AMAA highlights Nollywood’s cinematic growth and Femi Adebayo’s dedication to high-quality storytelling in African film.
