CAF Investigates Super Eagles’ Struggles in Libya, Promises Action

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has launched an investigation into the unfortunate situation faced by Nigeria’s Super Eagles in Libya. CAF has also warned that it will not hesitate to sanction anyone found guilty of violating its rules.

In an official statement released on Monday, CAF said, “The matter has been referred to the CAF Disciplinary Board for investigation, and appropriate action will be taken against those who violated the CAF Statutes and Regulations.”

The incident occurred when the Nigerian team arrived in Libya on Sunday but was left stranded at Al Abraq International Airport for over 13 hours. During this time, the players and officials were forced to sleep at the airport, without access to food or the internet.

Photos showing the team sleeping on the floor and benches quickly went viral, sparking concerns about their well-being.

CAF expressed deep concern over the situation and confirmed it had contacted both Libyan and Nigerian authorities to address the issue.

This investigation could lead to serious consequences for those responsible for the ordeal, as CAF continues to ensure that the well-being of players and teams is prioritized across all its competitions.
