Speaking on the podcast Curiosity Made Me Ask, hosted by Bae U Barbie, Kuti expressed how the snub affected him deeply, revealing that it left him unable to sleep for a week.
Kuti shared how he and Davido had a history, recalling the times Davido and his entourage would frequent the African Shrine, a bar owned by the Kuti family, where they drank without paying. Despite this relationship, Kuti wasn’t extended an invitation to the high-profile wedding, which hosted dignitaries from various sectors.
In his words:
“Davido would come to the African Shrine with 100 guys, and he would drink without paying, but when it was time for his wedding, I didn’t get IV. I was pained, I didn’t sleep for one week.”
