In a candid interview on Echo Room, Nigerian Street Pop sensation Portable shared the details of what led to the fallout between him and Afrobeats superstar Davido, revealing how fellow artist Zlatan played a role in the strained relationship.
Portable, known for his viral antics and outspoken nature, explained that his relationship with Davido was initially strong. Earlier in 2024, while on an American tour, Portable met with Davido, and the two spent time together, with Davido even gifting him a pair of sneakers.
However, things took a turn when Portable accused Zlatan of creating a rift between him and Davido. According to Portable, during his visit to the United States in search of an international artist to collaborate with, he received an invitation from Davido to hang out. During this time, Zlatan allegedly advised Davido to be cautious about his association with Portable, which reportedly influenced Davido’s stance.
Following this, Portable took to social media to voice his frustrations, accusing Zlatan of sabotaging his relationship with Davido. The ranting went on for days, but eventually, Portable issued a public apology in an attempt to repair his connection with Davido.
This isn’t the only high-profile clash Portable has had in 2024. Earlier in the year, he was involved in a heated feud with socialite Bobrisky, and more recently, he reconciled with musician Goya Menor after their fallout over the 2022 Headies Best Street Pop Award.
Despite his controversies, Portable continues to make waves in the music scene. He recently dropped a new single titled Oriade, which he performed during his interview session on Echo Room, further proving his ability to stay relevant amid the drama.
