Bruno Labbadia Turns Down Super Eagles Coaching Role in Surprising Twist

In a dramatic turn of events, Bruno Labbadia has reportedly backed out of taking the reins as the new head coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles. This comes just days after the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced the German coach’s appointment.

Despite initial excitement surrounding the news, sources from Germany now reveal that the 58-year-old has declined the offer to lead the three-time African champions. The decision seems to stem from a breakdown in contractual negotiations between Labbadia and the NFF, which occurred before the official announcement was made.

Labbadia was set to guide the Super Eagles through the crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda. With his departure, the NFF’s Technical Director, Austin Eguavoen, is likely to step in and oversee the team’s preparations for these important fixtures.

This unexpected development raises questions about the NFF’s handling of the situation and leaves Super Eagles fans wondering who will ultimately take charge of their beloved team.
