Nigerian singer and former Big Brother Naija winner, Laycon, has publicly called out DJ Neptune over unpaid royalties related to their collaborative track, “Nobody (Icons Remix).”
In a post that went viral on Wednesday, Laycon expressed his frustration on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, accusing DJ Neptune of failing to honor their agreement regarding royalty payments. The reality star pointed out that despite four years passing since the song’s release, Neptune has remained silent on the matter.
Laycon wrote:
“Abeg o, DJ Neptune how far my agreement and split for the ‘Nobody (Icons Remix)’ song though. Is it not still ready? Haba it’s been 4 years.”
The remix of “Nobody,” which also featured Joeboy, was released in October 2020 and was dedicated to Laycon’s fans, known as Icons. The song was a popular hit, but according to Laycon, the financial aspects of the collaboration have not been settled.
As of now, DJ Neptune has not responded to Laycon’s allegations.
