Peter Okoye Pens Open Letter to Brother Paul Over Latest P-Square Split

Peter Okoye, known as Mr P, has addressed his brother Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, in an open letter regarding their recent split. The P-Square duo, famous for their music group, initially parted ways in 2016 but reunited in 2021. However, tensions have arisen again, leading to another separation, which Rudeboy confirmed in a recent interview.

In the interview, Rudeboy claimed that P-Square’s success was largely due to his contributions, stating that he was responsible for writing most of their hit songs. This statement did not sit well with Mr P, who responded by publishing a heartfelt letter on Facebook. In the letter, Mr P expressed his disappointment over his brother’s comments, highlighting how he has always seen their achievements as a collective effort.

Mr P criticized Rudeboy for downplaying his contributions to the group and for focusing on individual accolades rather than the synergy that made P-Square successful. He also expressed frustration over how Rudeboy’s comments have been disrespectful not just to him, but to his family as well.

Mr P’s letter emphasizes the importance of unity and collaboration, reminding his brother that P-Square’s magic was a result of their combined talents. He also questioned whether their solo careers have achieved the same level of success as P-Square did, pointing out that neither of them has been able to replicate the group’s impact on their own.

Despite the ongoing rift, Mr P ended his letter with a note of goodwill, wishing his brother the best in his future endeavors.

Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P, addressed his brother Paul Okoye (Rudeboy) in an open letter regarding their recent split as the music duo P-Square. Below is the full letter :

My dear brother Paul,

“Just like I have told you several times, I am not in any competition with you or anybody else. However, seeing you grant countless interviews where you constantly discredit my efforts in the group that we both created and built together really speaks volumes.”

“Every time I have spoken in interviews about P-SQUARE, I have always used ‘we’ and ‘us’ because I saw us as a team. But whenever you speak, it’s always ‘I’ and ‘me,’ even when I’m standing right beside you. It’s as if I never existed.”

“My brother, neither of us is the most talented artist in the world, but you fail to understand that God gave us this talent and even granted us another chance to excel after our last breakup. Instead, you chose to turn the most awarded and decorated music group in Africa into a laughingstock again.”

“So, my brother, let me ask you: Is Rudeboy or Mr P bigger and more successful than P-SQUARE today? Are we individually selling out arenas and stadiums like P-SQUARE used to? Are we topping world music charts with our songs as solo artists?”

“I genuinely wish you nothing but the best, bro! As for those who believe these lies and false narratives and come to my page to drop negative comments, I understand because you have been fed the wrong narrative for a long time. Please allow me to focus and do my music in peace.”

Despite the ongoing tensions, Mr P wished his brother well, writing, “I genuinely wish you nothing but the best, bro! As for those who believe these lies and false narratives and come to my page to drop negative comments, I understand because you have been fed the wrong narrative for a long time. Please allow me to focus and do my music in peace.”
