EndBadGovernance: August Protest a Rehearsal for Revolution – Charly Boy

Nigerian entertainer and activist, Charles Oputa, widely known as Charly Boy, has issued a stern warning regarding the state of governance in Nigeria. He has declared that the only viable solution to the country’s persistent issues is a revolution, labeling the nationwide protests from August 1 to 10 as a mere “rehearsal” for what is to come.

Charly Boy, who has long been vocal about his dissatisfaction with the Nigerian government, took to his official X handle to express his views. He predicted that the forthcoming revolution would be unexpected and untelevised, and hinted at its potential to be both destructive and bloody if the government fails to address the demands of the youth.

In his post, Charly Boy wrote:

“It will take A Revolution To find A Solution to bad leadership. I see the August 1st to 10th as a dress rehearsal for the main event. The main event will be Unannounced. It will be madder than we ever Imagined. The REVOLUTION will not be Televised. Destruction and Blood will line in its wake. Hopefully, it will be The Outcome That Will Bring The SOLUTION”.

These statements come in the wake of ongoing nationwide protests organized by Nigerian youths, who have been demanding an end to the worsening hardship across the country since August 1. The protests are scheduled to culminate in a one-million-man march across Nigeria on Saturday, August 10, 2024.
