Popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, has been released from prison. On April 5, 2024, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) secured a conviction against Bobrisky for mutilating naira notes.
Bobrisky faced four counts of naira abuse charges and pleaded guilty before Justice A.O. Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos. He was sentenced accordingly and served his time at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
Bobrisky was officially released on Monday, August 5, 2024. In a video circulating on social media, he can be seen celebrating with friends and vibing to Mohbad’s and Chike’s song “Egwu”. His friends were heard saying:
“We are out of prison. Congratulations Bobrisky.”
