Sophia Momodu Counters Davido’s Custody Claim with 102-Paragraph Affidavit

Afrobeats star Davido’s first baby mama, Sophia Momodu, has filed a comprehensive defense against the musician’s lawsuit seeking joint custody of their daughter, Aurora Imade Adeleke. Momodu’s counter-affidavit, consisting of 102 paragraphs, was submitted by her legal team, Anthony Idigbe SAN of Punuka Attorney and Dr. Bimpe Ajegbomogun.

The legal dispute began when Davido filed a suit, marked LD/1587PMC/2024, aiming for joint custody and unrestricted access to their daughter. The suit lists Mr. David Adedeji Adeleke as the applicant and Ms. Sophia Momodu as the sole respondent.

Davido asserts that he has consistently met his financial obligations for their daughter’s well-being but claims that Sophia has made unreasonable demands designed to harass and frustrate him. He seeks joint custody and unfettered access to ensure his active role in Imade’s life.

In her defense, Momodu denies the allegations, stating that Davido has chosen not to see their daughter since July 2022. She asserts that she has solely shouldered the responsibility for their daughter for the past two years, while Davido uses Imade’s pictures on social media to falsely present himself as a supportive and active father.

The next hearing is scheduled for Friday, July 5.
