Wizkid Praises Ayra Starr and Tems Amid Odumodublvck’s Bold Claims

Nigerian superstar Wizkid recently showed support for female artists Ayra Starr and Tems, following a provocative statement by fellow musician Odumodublvck that they have surpassed him and other male artists due to the additional challenges women face in the music industry.

In an interactive session with fans on X on June 20, 2024, Wizkid responded to a fan’s comment that praised Ayra Starr and Tems over him. The fan stated, “So Ayra Starr and Tems are better than you. I’m glad you used your mouth to say Odumodu is not lying.”

Wizkid’s response was both a clapback and a commendation: “I see u weren’t raised by a good woman and love at home. Ayra Starr and Tems are amazing.”

This exchange follows Odumodublvck’s recent interview with Madam Joyce, where he boldly claimed that Tems and Ayra Starr’s achievements are greater than those of Wizkid, Burna Boy, and even Fela. He highlighted the significant hurdles female artists face, including sexual harassment from producers, show promoters, and fellow artists.

“There was a time I was coming to London with Tems’ manager, we were on the same flight, So I told Tems ‘Big ups, you did it! What you and Ayra Starr have done is bigger than anything Wizkid has done or what Burna Boy has done. Quote me anywhere,'” Odumodublvck stated.

He elaborated on the unique challenges female artists endure: “It is bigger than anything Fela has done because as a female artist out of every 10 show promoters, five want to have sex with you. Out of 10 producers, five want to fuck you and out of 10 artists you look up to or the people you want to help you, they want to knack you.”

Odumodublvck’s remarks underscore the resilience required for female artists to succeed despite systemic adversity, earning praise and recognition for Ayra Starr and Tems from both fans and peers.
