American-British media personality Andrew Tate has harshly criticized Nigerian Afrobeats singer Davido, accusing him of promoting a fraudulent cryptocurrency.
During a recent episode of his Rumble Tate Speech podcast, Tate alleged that the $DAVIDO Solana coin is a rug-pull scheme used by struggling artists to exploit their fans.
“This $DAVIDO Solana coin is a rug-pull coin that broke artists use to enrich themselves at the expense of their unsuspecting fans,” Tate claimed.
He did not mince words in his criticism of Davido:
“Trying to promote fcking trash coins with a C-List celebrity friend from fcking Africa.”
Tate’s comments come after Davido faced backlash for the alleged fraudulent nature of his meme coin $Davido. Fans expressed outrage when the coin crashed just hours after its launch, resulting in financial losses for many.
The controversy surrounding Davido’s involvement with the cryptocurrency has sparked significant debate, with many calling for greater accountability from celebrities endorsing financial products.
