Burna Boy Shatters Records with Highest-Grossing Tour in Canada

Burna Boy’s ‘I Told Them’ tour has cemented his status as a trailblazer in the music industry, achieving unprecedented success in Canada. Following the release of his 2023 album, Burna Boy embarked on a global tour that has left a trail of sold-out venues across North America, Europe, and the Caribbean.

According to Touring Data, Burna Boy’s ‘I Told Them’ tour in Canada has grossed a staggering $5.7 million from 69,219 tickets sold across six concerts, setting a new record for the highest-grossing tour by an African artist in Canada.

Burna Boy made history earlier this year by becoming the first African artist to headline the Scotia Bank Arena in Canada, selling out the 19,000-capacity venue on February 24th and 25th, 2024.

He became the first African artist to perform at the Grammy main ceremony, sharing the stage with 21 Savage and Brandy for a show-stopping performance of ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’. He also became the first Nigerian artist to be nominated outside of the global categories at the 66th Grammys, with his song ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ receiving a nod for Best Melodic Rap Performance.

Burna Boy’s success is a testament to his status as a global icon, pushing the boundaries of African music and redefining what it means to be a successful artist. His achievements have paved the way for a new generation of African artists, inspiring them to reach for the stars. With his ‘I Told Them’ tour, Burna Boy has once again proven that he is a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.
