Alex Iwobi Has No Regrets Choosing Nigeria Over England

Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi confidently stands by his decision to represent Nigeria instead of the England national team.

Despite facing backlash from Nigerian Super Eagles fans on social media over his performance in the last AFCON, Iwobi remains steadfast in his choice.

In a recent interview, Iwobi revealed his deep connection to Nigerian culture, affirming that playing for Nigeria was the right decision for him.

Notably, the Nigerian international previously played for England’s youth team before committing to Nigeria.

“I wouldn’t say I have any regrets. I respected England; they gave me many opportunities and I was proud to represent them.

“But I feel more at home with Nigeria. This is where I belong and who I represent, including my family and everyone else. I grew up immersed in Nigerian culture, so I have no regrets about choosing Nigeria over England.”
