Shan George Recovers Stolen Funds, Expresses Gratitude

Nollywood actress Shan George recently took to Instagram to express her heartfelt gratitude to her bank and those who helped her recover her stolen funds. She also offered prayers for those who supported her financially during her ordeal.

During a live session on May 8, 2024, George shared the story of how her money was stolen while attempting to obtain her bank statement for a visa application. She revealed that she was targeted by a fraudster who sent her an email posing as Zenith bank, leading her to respond and ultimately lose her funds.

George had initially cried out for help on social media after ₦3.6 million was stolen from her account by Cecilia Chiagoziem Okoro on May 3, 2024. In a desperate plea, she reached out to her bank and Opay for assistance, stating that she was left with nothing to feed her children.

Fortunately, her bank and the authorities stepped in, and George was able to recover her stolen funds. She expressed her gratitude, saying:

“I want to thank my bank and the police for helping me recover my stolen money. I got back my ₦3.6m. I’m so grateful. Please be careful out there, the scammers are still on the prowl, looking for their next victim.”

George’s experience serves as a reminder to be vigilant and cautious when dealing with online transactions and personal information to avoid falling prey to scams and fraud.
