Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar Burna Boy may be ready for a new chapter, fatherhood.
During his 34th birthday celebration on July 2, 2025, the self-proclaimed African Giant hinted for the first time in public that he’s warming up to the idea of having children. While making a toast surrounded by close friends and family, Burna casually confessed:
“Na so jowizaza follow me talk the last time, i come dey think about my life. I don dey old oh, I for begin born pikin,”

“Na so Jowizaza follow me talk the last time, I come dey think about my life. I don dey old oh, I for begin born pikin.”
The statement marks a significant shift from his stance just over a year ago. Back in May 2024, during an Instagram Live session, Burna made it clear that he had deliberately chosen not to have kids yet, not out of inability, but because of his lifestyle and his high standards for parenting.
“Why haven’t I had kids yet? Bro, because I don’t want to have kids yet… I know I can’t give that to anyone right now with the life I live.”
He further explained that being raised by loving, present parents created a high bar for what he wants to offer his own children.
“My mum and dad were always there for me. I want to be even more present for my kids. Until I can be there every single day, I’m not doing it.”
At the time, Burna also brushed off rumours about his fertility, laughing off fan comments during the Live session and jokingly referencing IVF as an option even if those claims were true.

Now, at 34, it seems the megastar is taking stock of life, legacy, and the future beyond the music. His birthday toast may not be a pregnancy announcement, but it’s the clearest sign yet that Burna Boy is beginning to think beyond the stage, and into the next generation.
Whether he’s serious or just reflecting in the moment, fans are already buzzing: could Burna Boy’s next big project be raising a family?
