Grammy-winning South African singer Tyla has thrilled fans with the confirmation of an upcoming collaboration with Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Wizkid.

The rising global star made the announcement during an interaction with a fan on X (formerly Twitter) who asked whether a recently teased track featured Wizkid. In response, Tyla revealed that the song was indeed recorded with Wizkid back in 2022.
“Yess, made the song in 2022, freestyled a melody in his hotel room. Me, Korey, Prime, n vibesss,” she wrote, sharing the story behind the track.
This marks the first-ever collaboration between the two Grammy winners, both of whom have played major roles in taking African music to global stages. Although Tyla didn’t share a title or release date, the revelation alone has stirred major anticipation among fans.
The track was reportedly recorded before Tyla’s breakthrough with the chart-topping hit ‘Water’, which catapulted her into global stardom in mid-2023. Since then, Tyla has been on a meteoric rise, earning major awards and becoming one of the standout faces of modern Afropop.
Her collaboration with Wizkid will add to a growing list of Nigerian collaborations. In 2023, she worked with Ayra Starr on ‘Girl Next Door’, and more recently teamed up with Tems on ‘No 1’, a standout track on her self-titled debut album. She also featured on DJ Spinall’s ‘One Call’ alongside Omah Lay.
This upcoming release will be her second single of 2025, following ‘Bliss’ in May. With her recent win as Best Afrobeats Artist at the American Music Awards, Tyla continues to cement her position among Africa’s brightest stars.
While fans eagerly await the release of her song with Wizkid, it’s clear the collaboration is set to be another big moment in the continued fusion of African talents on the world stage.
