Davido Jokingly Offers Blaqbonez a Way to Settle His Feud with Odumodublvck

As the tension between Nigerian rap heavyweights Blaqbonez and Odumodublvck continues to rise, Afrobeats superstar Davido has stepped in, with humor.

In a lighthearted moment captured during Paris Fashion Week, Davido ran into Blaqbonez and jokingly suggested that the rapper should fight Odumodublvck to resolve their differences. The clip, now making rounds on social media, has added a playful twist to what has otherwise been a fiery back-and-forth in the hip hop scene.

While Davido’s suggestion was clearly a joke, fans of Nigerian hip hop are seriously invested in seeing how this beef unfolds, whether through diss tracks or lyrical showdowns.

The Feud So Far

The rift between Blaqbonez and Odumodublvck escalated recently when Blaqbonez teamed up with veteran rapper A-Q on the newly released track Who’s Really Rapping. The song critiques the current state of Nigerian hip hop and poses a challenge to anyone claiming dominance, a clear jab at Odumodublvck, who has been widely recognized as one of the genre’s frontrunners.

Odumodublvck didn’t take it lightly. He responded with several social media posts, calling out Blaqbonez and A-Q for alleged backbiting and envy. On X (formerly Twitter), he doubled down on his position as the face of Nigerian rap, blending his responses with mockery and confident declarations.

In addition, Odumodublvck had already fired early shots in his latest album The Machine Is Coming, where he appeared to declare lyrical war on Blaqbonez. He further criticized Blaqbonez’s self-proclaimed title as “Africa’s best rapper” during a podcast appearance, calling it “delusional.”

While the cause of the feud remains unclear, it’s clear that both rappers are digging in for what could become one of the most memorable rivalries in Nigerian hip hop.

For now, fans can only wait to see whether the beef will stay on wax, or if Davido’s “boxing ring” suggestion gets taken literally.
