Bombs Away at Wembley: Usyk vs Dubois II Set to Shake the Heavyweight Division on July 19

The heavyweight division is gearing up for one of its most anticipated clashes of the year as Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois prepare to square off in a high-stakes rematch at Wembley Stadium on July 19, 2025. This time, all the marbles are on the line — with the undisputed heavyweight championship hanging in the balance.

Originally slated for July 12, the blockbuster bout was pushed back a week to avoid clashing with another major fight card headlined by Shakur Stevenson. But the new date only adds to the buildup for what promises to be an electrifying night under the lights in London.

A Rematch Steeped in Controversy

Their first encounter in 2023 ended in a ninth-round TKO win for Usyk, but the bout was not without its controversy. A fifth-round body shot from Dubois floored the Ukrainian, but it was ruled a low blow — a decision that still sparks debate among fans. Usyk recovered and rallied to stop Dubois in emphatic fashion, but the fire from that moment has been burning ever since — especially for Dubois.

Since that loss, the 27-year-old Brit has transformed his career trajectory. Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) has strung together an impressive winning streak, capturing the IBF title after defeating Filip Hrgovic and then successfully defending it with a stunning fifth-round knockout of Anthony Joshua at Wembley — the very stage he’ll return to in July.

Dubois: “I Won’t Be Denied”

Dubois is brimming with confidence heading into the rematch. Speaking to Sky Sports, he made it clear that he’s not just showing up to compete — he’s coming to conquer.

“Fireworks, it’s going to be bombs away on the night,” said Dubois. “I’m going to be the one throwing the bombs, coming through whatever I’ve got to come through. I’m not going to be denied.”

The London native sees this fight as his moment to rise to the top of the sport and fulfill his destiny as the new undisputed king of the heavyweight division.

“I see him as a top guy… but now I think it’s my time. I’m the young lion here, I’ve got to prove I’m a real force, a new force in the division. It means conquering everything this sport has to offer.”

Usyk: Chasing Undisputed Glory… Again

For Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs), the fight is about reclaiming what was once his. After becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion by outpointing Tyson Fury in 2024, Usyk was forced to vacate the IBF title in order to secure a lucrative rematch with Fury — which he also won.

Now 38, Usyk enters the ring with three major belts (WBC, WBA, and WBO) and the chance to reclaim the final piece of the puzzle. Known for his masterful footwork, tactical brilliance, and icy composure under pressure, the Ukrainian aims to remind the world why he’s considered one of the greatest pound-for-pound fighters of this generation.

A Battle for the Ages

With the WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBF titles on the line, this bout is about more than just belts — it’s about legacy.

  • Usyk wants to reestablish his undisputed status and write another historic chapter in his already legendary career.
  • Dubois, riding a wave of momentum and national pride, is determined to join the ranks of British greats like Lennox Lewis and become the face of a new heavyweight era.

On July 19 at Wembley Stadium, the world will be watching as two warriors collide in a fight that promises drama, power, and potentially — history.

Don’t blink. Bombs will fly.
