Afrobeats star Kizz Daniel, real name Daniel Anidugbe, has revealed that he’s taking a break from music to spend more time with his family.
The announcement was made via a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account on June 4, 2025, where he candidly admitted that his family has felt sidelined due to his dedication to music.
“No more recording for me… Just enjoying life like it should be… My family don diss me say I choose studio over them, I’m changing,” he wrote.
The message sparked conversations among fans about the balance between personal life and a demanding music career. While many expressed support for the decision, Kizz Daniel didn’t stop there, he also touched on the possibility of retiring from music entirely.
“I have over 600 songs I want to dish out before I hang boot, so,” he added in response to a fan who commented on his prolific music output.
The post came just days after the singer teased a new EP titled Orange Chase, despite having recently dropped Lemon Chase, a seven-track project that includes collaborations with Bella Shmurda, ODUMODUBLVCK, Fola, and more. Tracks like “Black Girl Magic,” “Titi,” and “Al-Jannah” have already been embraced by fans, further showcasing Kizz Daniel’s consistent musical creativity.
Lemon Chase is said to be a prelude to his forthcoming album Uncle K, which promises to be a deeply personal body of work. According to Christian Agadibe, CEO of Artmatazz Media, the album explores themes of love, loss, peace, and joy, emotions listeners from all walks of life can relate to.
While Kizz Daniel hasn’t given a timeline for his return or retirement, his latest remarks suggest a more intentional approach to balancing his personal life with his artistic pursuits. Whether this signals a temporary pause or the beginning of a slow exit from the spotlight remains to be seen.
