Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Asake has announced the title of his upcoming album, ‘Money’, marking his fourth studio LP in as many years.
The two-time Grammy-nominated star made the announcement on Thursday, June 5, 2025, via his official X (formerly Twitter) account. The album title appears to be a nod to his longtime moniker “Mr. Money”, a name that has become synonymous with his meteoric rise in the music industry.
Asake’s upcoming project continues his consistent streak of annual releases that began with the breakout 2022 EP ‘Ololade Asake’. His debut album, ‘Mr. Money With The Vibe’, set the tone, dominating charts and establishing him as a force in Afrobeats. He followed it up with ‘Work of Art’ in 2023 and the record-shattering ‘Lungu Boy’ in 2024.
‘Lungu Boy’ debuted at No. 1 on TurnTable Charts and held the top spot for a historic 15 consecutive weeks, becoming the best-selling album of 2024. It marked his third straight album to top year-end charts, a streak unmatched by any other Nigerian artist.
Beyond his chart-topping releases, Asake was also named Nigeria’s Best-Selling Artist for the third year running in 2024, a record-setting feat that further cements his legacy.
2025 has already been an eventful year for the star. Following his appearance at the 67th Grammy Awards, Asake debuted a bold new aesthetic that includes a full-body tattoo, a new hairstyle, and what he calls a “military mindset”, a philosophy he unveiled in a post-Grammys freestyle.
With ‘Money’ now officially in the pipeline, fans and industry watchers alike are eager to see how Asake continues to evolve. If his past work is any indication, this new album could once again redefine the landscape of contemporary Afrobeats.
