Falz Stands Firm on Claim That ‘Fornication Isn’t a Sin’ Despite Backlash

Nigerian rapper and activist, Falz, has ignited heated debate on social media following his controversial claim that premarital sex, also known as fornication, is not a sin. The statement, which has dominated trends on X (formerly Twitter), sparked outrage among conservative users and religious communities, but the rapper isn’t backing down.

The backlash began shortly after Falz’s original post went viral, where he casually dismissed the long-held belief that sex before marriage is sinful. The comment quickly drew criticism, particularly from Christian circles who found the statement theologically offensive.

Unfazed by the uproar, Falz doubled down on his stance. In a follow-up post, he tweeted:

“Only religion I know is Love. You should try it ”

The comment reignited debate, as critics took to his mentions to question his understanding of religion, morality, and love itself. While some tried to challenge him with scriptural arguments, others offered sarcastic or emotionally charged responses.

Some reactions on X included:

“Last time you said fornication isn’t sin, I want to assume there’s no red line to multiple sexual partners, so how do you define love?”

“Love is not a religion. Religion is built on doctrine, worship, and service to a higher power. Love is an emotion, not a structured belief system.”

“You said fornication isn’t a sin, now you’re out here preaching ‘love is my only religion.’ Bro, if it’s Christianity you’re referencing, just know love there comes with commandments, not condoms.”

“Don’t go and give your life to Christ and stop allowing the devil to deceive you. Life is short, but eternity is long.”

Despite the criticism, Falz has remained firm and appears undeterred by the backlash. His comments continue to generate widespread discussion around personal beliefs, modern-day spirituality, and the intersection of faith and freedom.

Whether you agree or disagree, one thing is certain, Falz has once again sparked a national conversation that shows no signs of slowing down.
