In a recent interview with Beat 99.9FM, Odumodublvck shared the moment with fans, expressing deep gratitude to Davido, whom he described as “my brother,” for acknowledging the behind-the-scenes role his partner played in his success.
“Shout out to Davido; that’s my brother, you know? Two days ago, he sent ₦10 million to my girlfriend. He just sent it to her for being a real one because she was really part of my success in winning the Next Rated award at the Headies. She did a whole campaign and stuff like that. She’s a real one. I have to credit both of them,” he said.
The Declan Rice rapper went on to recall an encouraging moment from 2023 when Davido confidently predicted that he would one day win the Next Rated category, even though at the time, Odumodublvck had only been nominated for Rookie of the Year.
“Davido told me in 2023 that I was going to win that Next Rated award. I wasn’t even nominated yet, only for Rookie. But he believed in me. And thank God I wasn’t nominated that year, it was really Asake’s time. I glorify process, I like the journey.”
Odumodublvck emphasized that his success hasn’t changed him but instead ignited even more passion in his craft.
