Odumodublvck and Burna Boy Miss Out at 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards

Nigerian stars Odumodublvck and Burna Boy were among the big names at the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards, but neither managed to secure a win in their respective categories.

Burna Boy, nominated for Best Live Performer, lost to American hip-hop legend Missy Elliott, who took home the award with her renowned stage presence. Meanwhile, Odumodublvck was up for Best International Flow, but the award went to UK rapper Ghetts, who emerged victorious in the highly competitive category.

The 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards, held on October 15, was dominated by Kendrick Lamar, who swept the night with an impressive seven awards, including Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Music Video. Five of Kendrick’s wins were tied to his chart-topping diss track, “Not Like Us”, solidifying his dominance in the industry.

Despite the losses for Burna Boy and Odumodublvck, the Nigerian music scene continues to make waves internationally. Both artists remain at the forefront of Afrobeats’ global expansion, and their nominations reflect their growing influence in the world of music.
